Do you celebrate New Year’s day?
Technically, I celebrate two New Year’s days every year. The first one belongs to the Gregorian calendar. Usually, in Vietnam you get a day off on this day so you can stay home with your family and go out for countdown parties. The most important day is the Lunar New Year and we often get 2 weeks off to celebrate.

What do people do on New Year’s Day?

What was the most memorable New year celebration you have experienced?
I was in Ecuador for New Year’s day a couple of years ago. At midnight, people celebrated by burning life-size clown dolls which represented the bad luck of the last year. That was the first time I saw a celebration that was so intense so I still remember it ‘till today.
